Tips
for Pressing Plants at Home:
Look
around outside for suitable leaves and flowers to press. Press them in a
single layer (not overlapping any other plants) face down, between sheets of
parchment/acid-free paper (toilet paper works as well). If you don’t have
a flower press, you can press them between the pages of a book, and stack a few
other books on top. Press them as soon as you pick them so they don’t get
a chance to wilt, and make sure they are as dry as possible.
Fun
fact!
People
have been drying and preserving flowers and plants since the times of Ancient
Egypt. In the Victorian Era in England, pressed flowers and seaweed were
popular wall decorations.
